eBooks Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is an eBook?
eBook (short for Electronic Book) is basically an electronic version of a printed book.
Q2: How do I read an eBook?
An eBook can be read on your computer screen, smart phone (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc), dedicated eBook reader (Kindle, Sony eBook reader, etc) and tablets such as iPad, PlayBook, etc.
Q3: What are the advantages of an eBook over regular printed books?
eBooks are cheaper to buy and more environmentally friendly because they don't use paper. They are also more convenient to take while you're travelling as all your eBooks can be saved in one device. Furthermore, eBooks offer interactivity the way printed books can't, such as providing a clickable link so you can get more information from other resources on the Internet.
Q4: Do I need to download special software to read an eBook?
On your computer you need to download and install
Adobe Reader. Dedicated eBook readers such as Kindle don't need additional software installed but smartphones and tablets (iPhone, iPads, Blackberry, etc) do need you to install eBook reader software. Please refer to your smartphone and/or tablets manual or contact their customer service to get more information on this.
Q5: What are the eBook formats available from Wag School Books?
When you buy an eBook from us, we will give you all three of the major eBook formats: Adobe PDF (for reading on your computer screen), Mobi (for Kindle), and ePub (Sony Bookreader, Nook, iPhone, iPad, Android, and other e-reader devices).
Q6: Can I read your eBooks on Mac?
Yes, you can read the PDF format of your eBook on Mac.
Q7: How do I transfer the eBook to my eBook reader?
Because there are a lot of eBook reader devices out there, it is impossible for us to provide information on how to transfer an eBook to every one of them. Please refer to your device manual or contact their customer service to get more information on this.
Q8: Can I print your eBook so I can read it on paper?
Yes, you can print your eBook for your own reading purpose. However, you are not allowed to distribute or resell the printed copy to anyone else.
Q9: Can I lend my eBook to my friends just like I would lend them hard copy books?
You can lend the device containing your eBook to your friends to read, eg. you can lend your iPad or Kindle to someone. However, you are not allowed to send the eBook file itself (PDF, mobi and/or ePub files) to your friends via email, transfer them to another person on a disc or other file storage device or upload them on file sharing websites.
